September News

Important Announcement – In future newsletters will not be mailed out but will only be available on the web site. You will need to check the web site regularly for information and updates. Any member who does not have access to the internet please contact Viv Taylor 611606 and she will arrange to mail a list of events out.

Area Events:- Well done to all those members who have competed at Area events this year. All the members performed to a very high standard and were a credit to the Club but special congratulations to Lisa Young who qualified for the Tetrathlon Championships where she finished 2nd in our Area and 39th out of 119 competitors in the whole competition. A brilliant performance by Lisa when you think that the winners of this comp often go on to compete in the Pentathlon at the Olympics! [see later paragraph on tetrathlon if you too would like to compete in this discipline]

Camp: Each year the Summer Camp gets better and better and this year it was a really terrific camp. The weather wasn’t too bad and didn’t cause too much disruption and there was a lovely atmosphere throughout the whole week culminating on Saturday morning with a splendid display of musical rides performed by each ride. Well done to the inspiring instructors, Cheryl, Natalie, Jo and Di and also to all the committee and parents for all their hard work before, during and after camp.

Tests:- Well done to all those who have recently passed tests:-
‘D+ ‘Test:- Lauren Bellamy, Lucy McGinn, Shay Marsden, Nathan Mealin, Callum Staley and Clare Williams

Don’t forget if you wish to be considered for your next test please put your name forward on the web site.

Rallies:- This winter all senior rallies will be held at GGH and all Garran Beg at the Glebe. We have tried not to clash with other events however sometimes this has been unavoidable. The charge for each rally will be £8.00 and entries should be sent to Chris by the PREVIOUS MONDAY. Putting your entry in late can make it difficult for Chris to fit you into a suitable ride so please send your entries with the correct fee by the due date.

Horse and Pony Care at Kennaa: These will start at 7.00pm and finish at approx. 8.00pm. The charge will be £2. There will be some practical sessions during the winter so please bring your hat and boots on each occasion.

Subscriptions are now due
We are pleased to tell you that we are holding the individual membership subscription at the 2009 level of £50. Families, where there are three or more children in the Pony Club, will pay a family subscription of £125.00, irrespective of the number of children in the family. These can also be downloaded off the web site. Members subs must be paid before the 31st January 2011 if they wish to be considered to represent the Club next year in any off island events.’

Prince Philip Cup Games Indoor practices will be starting after Christmas – for more information please phone Chris Chatel on 843569

Horse and Pony Care and Quiz 2011:-  These competitions will not be held on the island next year but we would still like to take teams to compete therefore anyone who would like to train for either competition please contact AnnMarie Robinson on 662061/408342 or email robinson_gang@hotmail.com
