Pony Club were thrilled and honoured this weekend to host a visit from world acclaimed Olympic Eventing Squad Coach Mr Yogi Breisner. This provided an incredible opportunity for members to meet and talk with this very approachable and famous horseman. On Saturday afternoon at Glenlough (kind permission of Mr & Mrs Peter Quayle) he spoke to members about his 2012 Olympic experiences, complete with many photos and plans not normally available to the public, and this was followed by a lengthy question time when members had the opportunity to ask Yogi loads of questions which he always answered fully to everyones complete satisfaction! On Saturday night he attended the annual Fund Raising Ball held at the Empress Hotel where he gave a riveting after dinner speech again on the 2012 Olympics but with a more adult perspective. This was a really enjoyable night but not so great for those members who had to be up early on the Sunday morning to be demonstration riders for the first of two lecture/demos given by Yogi at the fabulous new facilities at Ballakaneen Dressage (kind permission of Mrs Ann King). The members in the morning demo were Laura Gill, Imogen Cannell, Katy Robinson and Vicky Hargreaves and in the afternoon session Abby Corlett, Yas Ingham, Hebe Williamson and Charlotte Shimmin. Both sessions were truly inspirational for both the audience and the participants.
