Pony Club Annual Disco and Prize Presentation
The Pony Club held their annual Disco and prize presentation at the South Douglas Old Friends Association Hall in Finch Road, on Friday 13th January.  Fortunately there wasn’t anything unlucky about the night as everyone seemed to have a great night.  As usual Mark Cowin was the DJ and kept all the members both young and old on the dance floor full all night with fun games and dancing.  It was lovely to see so many of our senior members joining in the games with the youngest members.  The prizes were presented by the Club’s President Mrs Jackie McCubbin and the awards were as follows:-

Calvert Fisher Trophy for Attendance: 1st =Sophie Hawley, Blae Richardson and Zelda Newey, 2nd Freddie Ralston 3rd= Tommy Ralston, Lucy Parsons, Aislinn Lace and Abby Jackson

2011 was a very successful year for members competing off island. During the summer 23 members had represented the Club at 18 different Area events  having and these members were awarded the following badges:-

Members are reminded that the next event will be an unmounted  Horse and Pony Care evening at 6.45pm at Kennaa Equestrian Centre on Friday 21st January when the topic will be ‘Care of the foot’ suitable for all members to attend.  On Saturday 28th January there will rallies for both Senior at GGH when it will be a flatwork lesson with Clare Drewry and Garran Beg will be at the Glebe. Entries to Chris Chatel by previous Monday – late entries will only be accepted if space in suitable ride.
